The year spent at Conarken Engineering Limited took place during the third year of my four-year sandwich degree course. I was the only member of their CAD department and was solely responsible for its maintenance. Initially I produced all of the workshop drawings and cutting lists but as I gained experience, began collecting both price and availability for the components and materials required for production. Soon I was responsible for calculating quotes for customers based upon their own specifications.
