Daydreams

This image was created using only Adobe PhotoShop 4. The original picture is a photo of my mother sunbathing in Portugal.

Firstly a number of Omni Lights were used to delicately colour the image particularly around the face and right arm. The whole of the face was then lightly Air Brushed before overlaying with a Watercolour filter. The shadowed areas were then masked and their levels adjusted to achieve ‘super black’. The background was next masked and a number of copies made. These were then Colourised separately and used to Colour Burn the whole background area. The image was then flattened and a Gradient Selection applied from the top down over the arm. A vertical Motion Blur was then used to pull the distant sections out of focus. A similar method was used for the areas closest to the camera.

To finish the image, the face section was Copied, Transformed, Colourised, Blurred (radially), and positioned across the top of the image.
